Five Simple Ways to Kill Your PTE Reading MCQs’ Score

The most annoying items of PTE reading module is MCQs with single and multiple answers. While this is a piece of cake for those who have special eyes to scan through the options and select one or more, it is even easier to ruin the score by doing a few deadly things! As some wise men say that it is okay if you don’t know the right way to do right things, but you must know the wrong ways that can cook your own goose.

I get a chance to meet a pool of students who come for PTE coaching. Here I share my experience that we observe when students either go out of time or select the wrong options unbeknownst to them. That said, if you want to ruin your score in PTE reading, just follow these steps…easy…isn’t it?
By the way, to get high score in PTE Reading, focus on Reorder and Fill in the Blanks.

Getting on the wrong horse!

The item comes with three parts –text (the passage), prompt (the sentence or the main question), and the answer options. While others read the Prompt first to have a quick information about the item, you can waste your time in reading the entire passage! A passage with 300 words could be another nail in the coffin. By the time you reach the bottom of the passage, you might have eaten up 4-5 minutes!

Ignoring keywords!

What makes the item easier is to find keywords in the Answer Options and quickly find them in the given text. Well, to ruin it, simply ignore the keywords. This will make you clueless and you will have to go through the entire passage. If it is a longer passage, you completely lose it!

Selecting the option immediately

PTE is smart! Very smart! It can get you the options with keywords or even a ‘quote’. They know that there are many who blindly follow tips to score high in PTE reading and thus, they give you options that you feel as downhill all the way! Without reading the entire sentence and just picking the option based on keywords or a ‘quote’ will kill your score in a jiffy!

So, following these terrible instructions, you can successfully kill your PTE reading Multiple Choice Questions’ score. On the other hand, if you smartly unfollow the tips, you are all way to your success in Pearson Test for English, and make your dreams come true. The choice is yours!
